Port of Marseille: map and access
La Méridionale ships for Porto-Vecchio, Tangier and Propriano sail from the port of Marseille. The port of Marseille Porte Chanterac (Gate 1), located not far from the city centre and close to Les Terrasses du Port shopping centre, is accessible by vehicle and by public transport.
Traveller access to the port
La Méridionale passengers at the port of Marseille are welcomed at the Arenc passenger terminal, located less than a kilometre north of place de la Joliette. Vehicles should go to Gate 1, foot passengers to Gate 2.

Tips for boarding
The port of Marseille's "Euroméditerranée" district is undergoing major renovation. Work is carried out regularly and may cause traffic and access difficulties around the port of Marseille. To make sure you arrive on time with total peace of mind, think ahead!
For Corsica
To board at the port of Marseille with total peace of mind, we advise you to arrive:
- at the latest 1 hour before the ferry departure time for foot passengers
- at the latest 1 and a half hours for vehicles.
When you arrive at the passenger terminal, you must show boarding staff:
- your ticket
- proof of identity for each passenger
- vehicle papers
Access to the ship may be refused if you arrive late or if you do not have the right paperwork for travelling to Corsica.

Travelling to Morocco
We advise you to arrive at the port of Marseille for boarding to Tangier:
- at the earliest 7 hours before departure
- at the latest 2 hours before departure
Before boarding, make sure you have all paperwork required:
- your ticket
- valid proof of identity for each traveller (passport, national ID card, residence permit, etc.)
- vehicle papers

BOARDING WITH A PET
Pets are welcome on-board and must be declared during booking.
Facilities on-board intended for travellers (cabins, decks, restaurants, lounges, etc.) are not accessible to pets. Pets travel in their owner's car (for Corsica) or in our air-conditioned kennel (for Corsica and Morocco routes).
Remember to bring water and food as well as a carrier for small dogs and cats.
To travel to Morocco with a dog or a cat, the animal must:
- be identified (chip or tattoo)
- have a passport
- have up-to-date vaccinations and be vaccinated against rabies.
A health certificate drawn up by a veterinarian must also be shown on arrival in Morocco.
