People with reduced mobility

PERSONNES À MOBILITÉ RÉDUITE

La Méridionale makes access easy to its ferries travelling to Corsica and Morocco for people with reduced mobility (PRM). You'll find all the information you need to know below about how people with disabilities travel on our Ajaccio, Propriano and Tanger-Med routes.

People with reduced mobility on-board our ships to Corsica and Morocco

Pursuant to the definition published in the French Journal Officiel on 06/04/12 (Division 190), "any person with particular difficulty using public transport" is considered as a person with reduced mobility on-board our ferries; for example:

  • senior citizens;
  • women over 5 months pregnant;
  • people in wheelchairs;
  • people with impaired vision;
  • people with impaired hearing;
  • people in care;
  • people of short stature;
  • people suffering from cognitive/psychic impairments.

So our crew may welcome you and address your special needs, please inform us of your situation when booking. When you make your booking online, a menu lets you declare your impairment and automatically inform our sales team.

Cabins equipped for people with disabilities

Suitable cabins are available for people with disabilities on our crossings to Morocco and Corsica.

If you wish to travel in one of these cabins, you must make a request to our sales department at least 48 hours before departure or at the time of booking. Our teams are available by phone on +33 (0)970 83 20 20 to log your request.

Each ship, like Piana, has a limited number of these cabins.

Boarding for PRM on our ships

Boarding formalities are simplified for PRM travellers.

People with reduced mobility should make themselves known to La Méridionale as soon as they arrive at ticket checkpoint by turning on their vehicle hazard warning lights. Special parking spaces are reserved for the vehicles of PRM and those who accompany them, close to lifts. These spaces make it easier to access the reception area from the parking deck.

Although pets are not permitted in areas reserved exclusively for passengers, guide dogs are accepted free of charge everywhere on our ferries to Morocco and Corsica, including restaurant spaces.

To welcome PRM in the best possible way on-board its ships, La Méridionale recommends that travellers who require help or special assistance inform the staff present at boarding.

Our teams and our crew do their utmost to ensure your journey gives you great satisfaction. Feel free to ask them for help. They are on hand throughout your stay on our ship as well as when you disembark.
