Before departure, check the access map for the Port of Marseille. It will help you identify the different entrances and plan your arrival more easily.

Boarding Recommendations

For your ferry crossing to Corsica, please arrive:

  • At least 1 hour before departure if you are travelling as a foot passenger, via Gate 2.
  • At least 1 hour and 30 minutes before departure if you are travelling with a vehicle, via Gate 1.

On arrival, keep your ticket, valid identification for every passenger, and vehicle documents (if travelling by car) close at hand. Boarding may be refused if you arrive late or do not have the required documents. Check in advance which documents you need to travel to Corsica.

Boarding requirements may vary depending on your booking, so check the information provided with your ticket before setting off.

Parking at the Port of Marseille: Where to Park Before Boarding the Ferry?

Parking at the Port of Marseille is a key consideration, especially if you are travelling as a foot passenger or wish to leave your car near the terminal while you enjoy your stay in Corsica.

There is no dedicated La Méridionale car park for ferry passengers within the port area. However, several paid public car parks are available around Arenc and La Joliette, close to the ferry terminal.

Short-Stay Parking Near the Terminal

The Terrasses du Port car park, on Quai du Lazaret, offers a convenient parking option near the Arenc area. Open 24 hours a day, it provides spaces for private vehicles. This car park near the Port of Marseille is suitable for short stays, such as dropping someone off at the port before walking to the ferry terminal.

Long-Stay Parking for Ferry Crossings

Leaving your vehicle parked within the port for the duration of your stay in Corsica is strictly prohibited. Choose a long-stay car park outside the port instead. Before making your choice, compare the total cost for the entire duration of your trip.

Here are a few useful tips for parking outside the Port of Marseille:

  •  Compare the total cost if you will be away for more than one day.
  • Check the rates, opening hours, maximum vehicle height, and booking conditions of your chosen car park.
  • Locate the car park entrance and check the pedestrian route to the ferry terminal.

Car park locations and prices may change as the Euroméditerranée district develops. Always check the latest conditions for your chosen car park before departure.

If you are boarding with your vehicle, head directly to Gate 1 (Chanterac). Follow the port signage and the instructions provided by boarding staff.

Where to Catch the Ferry to Corsica from Marseille

To catch the ferry to Corsica from Marseille, your departure point is the Arenc ferry terminal (Terminal 1), in the Joliette and Euroméditerranée area.

From this terminal, La Méridionale serves two Corsican ports: Ajaccio and Porto-Vecchio. Your choice depends on your final destination on the island and your booking. Check your ticket to confirm your arrival port and departure time.

Once you've identified the terminal, all that's left is to find your access gate and allow enough time for boarding.
